You are cordially invited to participate in this year’s National Lawyers Guild Los Angeles (NLG-LA) Annual Awards Dinner. As NLG-LA’s biggest event of the year, the Annual Awards Dinner is a memorable celebration that brings together hundreds of attorneys, legal workers and allies to recognize our accomplishments as a community.
This year’s event will be held at the Pasadena Hilton (168 S. Los Robles Ave., Pasadena) on Sunday, June 9th, 2019. Cocktails will be served at 5pm, and dinner begins at 6:30pm.

Robert Newman, long-time civil and human rights attorney. Robert has argued and won at least 20 published and precedent setting cases involving everything from police abuse to general assistance to areas of disability and poverty. His stellar record on behalf of people who are poor or homeless is unparalleled. His victories have brought relief to literally millions of people. He is a mentor and role model for many attorneys in our community. His life and work embody the highest ideals of the Guild.
- United Teachers of Los Angeles (UTLA), organized a strike that was a watershed moment for public education. In six days, UTLA galvanized the city, dominated national media coverage, won a ground-breaking contract, and learned that in the battle to reinvest in our schools, the public stands with teachers. With 34,000 members out on the street, it was one of the biggest strikes in California history.
