Text Box: This week's edition of The Lawyers Guild Show (every Thursday at 7:00
p.m., on kpfk, 90.7 fm in Los Angeles; 98.7 fm in Santa Barbara County) is
all about dirt! Inspired by the award-winning documentary film, entitled
"Dirt!," the show will explore the little known vital importance of dirt for
life on earth far beyond its uses in growing food; explain what has caused
the current environmental degradation of the earth's soil; and what is and
can be done to turn the situation around before its too late. Jim Lafferty's
guests include Bill Benenson, a producer and director of the award-winning
documentary film, "Dirt!;" Chris Imhoff, Director of Education at Tree
People in Los Angeles and developer of the award-winning programs, "Dirt
Doctor" and "Compost Gourmet;" and Janine Watkins, who runs "Mudtown," the
urban garden in Watts.
